Become a local missionary disciple who is part of a global Catholic community that supports your faith journey wherever the military leads you, enriching the military culture with Catholic values and unity, and transforming into a more active participant in the Catholic life by:
Committing themselves to daily prayer for the Church, the Pope, the United States and its leaders, and the U.S. Military and its chains of command.
Uniting the unique sufferings of military life with Christ in charity and penance through regular Mass attendance and reception of the Holy Eucharist, as well as participation in the Sacraments.
Showing the utmost reverence for the Mass, recognizing that in it, our Lord’s body, blood, soul, and divinity becomes truly present in the Holy Eucharist.
Striving for unity within the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church despite any legitimate differences in opinion or personal preferences that may exist.
Supporting by prayer, action, and all means of the faith, the intentions of the Pope, and his successors, as the Supreme Pontiff and Vicar of Jesus Christ.
Being charitable to all non-Catholics, especially to our Protestant brothers and sisters who share faith in Christ and work to spread the Gospel.
Striving to visibly live their faith as they carry out their military duties, setting the example of a faithful Catholic and bringing others closer to Christ through their example.
These practices comprise our Member Pledge, the items in our CMA-US Rule of Life.
Small groups of 3–7 members who commit to living the CMA-US Rule of Life together.
Pray together regularly, often in the gaps of military life
Hold one another accountable to the Rule of Life
Intercede for their unit, installation, and the Church
Encourage visible Catholic witness in daily duty
A Squad requires no formal programming or infrastructure. It is the fastest and most accessible way to establish a faithful Catholic presence where you serve.
As Squads grow and multiply, they naturally form or integrate into Local Chapters.
Gather multiple Squads into a stable local community
Host larger prayer, formation, and fellowship opportunities at the installation/regional scale
Coordinate with chaplains and provide assistance with chapel initiatives
Provide continuity across PCS cycles
Chapters are not a separate mission—they are a gathering of Squads, providing long-term stability and visibility for Catholic life on an installation.
Support the functions of members and local chapters by:
Providing administrative support to local Squads and Chapters.
Organizing and promoting devotions to help Catholic service members grow in their faith.
Promoting and supporting initiatives and events of the U.S. Archdiocese for the Military Services.
Organizing national gatherings such as national pilgrimages, special Masses for the military services with the Archbishop, and national conferences.
Enabling international involvement at events such as Warriors to Lourdes and Apostolat Militaire International conferences.
